Roatan, the largest of the Bay Islands, is 35 miles off mainland Honduras and sits
on the second largest Coral Reef system in the world, hugging most of the shore.
Diving here
has been reported by well traveled divers to be the best they have experienced. While diving
has been the main attraction to Roatan, others come to visit to experience many more
activities the island has to offer.
Water activities are abundant with sailing, kayaking, rental
of jet ski's, fantastic fishing, or viewing the many fish varieties from a glass bottom boat. All
of these within walking distance.
You may choose to experience a Canopy Tour at
Gumbalimba Park or a horse back ride on the beach, also foot steps away. Take a once in a
lifetime tour in a Mangrove Canal and experience the unique birds and monkeys of the island.
It was told to me by a recent visitor that the Dolphin experience and swim at the Roatan
Institute for Marine Science, located at Anthony's Key Resort, was among her 10 of the top
10 things in life she has experienced. At the end of the day you may have a relaxing massage
in the privacy of Orchid Breeze or you may visit one of the Spas on the island for a little
pampering.
We have provided for you links so you may learn more of this unique island
paradise and plan your vacation dream.
Roatan is rapidly becoming an eco friendly island
and we ask you to please consider to conserve water and electricity to help reduce the
environmental impact on the island.
